Fast-paced city centre bike racing returns to ITV4 this May and June with the 2013 Pearl Izumi Tour Series.
Starting in Kirkcaldy, Fife, on May 14 and concluding in Ipswich a month later, ten teams of five professional cyclists battle it out at each of the 11 rounds held on weekday evenings in town and city centres across the UK, as they aim for the right to be crowned the best team in Britain.
An hour-long highlights show of every round will be broadcast on ITV4 in a evening slot the day after each event takes place.

As the world cycling season progresses into May the first Grand Tour of the season gets into gear as Italy plays host to 96th edition of the Giro d’Italia (May 6-24).
Sir Bradley Wiggins will be aiming to add a second Grand Tour title alongside the Tour de France crown he won last summer as he attempts to make more sporting history by becoming the first Briton to claim the coveted maglia rosa.
British Eurosport will screen daily live coverage from every stage of the 2013 Giro d’Italia, while Sky Sports will provide nighly highlights of the event for the first time this year.

British Cycling has announced that both of its national road series will be covered by British Eurosport in 2013.
The new broadcast deal covers the six rounds of the Elite Circuit Series and Premier Calendar respectively, all of which will be shown in a highlights programme broadcast just days after each event.
British Eurosport will bring cycling fans the best action from the British pro peloton throughout 2013, adding to its comprehensive coverage of cycling’s biggest events.

Eurosport has announced an extension and enhancement of their long term partnership to cover all major Italian cycling races for an additional four years.
The deal covers 2013 to 2016 and involves TV and digital rights for the Giro d’Italia as well as five other major Italian races, including the Milan – Sanremo, the Giro di Lombardia and Tirreno-Adriatico.
As part of the new four-year deal, there will be extended and upgraded live production and broadcasting of the races in high-definition for the first time.

British Eurosport begins its unrivalled coverage of the road cycling season with live action from the 71st running of the prestigious Paris-Nice.
As the season’s first major stage race in Europe, it provides an opportunity to test out the winter training regime but remains a major event in its own right and a key ingredient of the complete rider’s CV.
Consisting of eight stages, including tw0 individual time-trials, the 2013 Paris-Nice will cover a total distance of 1,174km from the north of France to the south coast and British Eurosport will broadcast exclusive daily live coverage of the event from March 3-10.

The world’s best track cyclists are in the Belarusian capital of Minsk for the 2013 UCI Track World Championships and you can watch extensive coverage on BBC TV from February 20-24.
Great Britain will be the team to beat in Minsk, having won eight gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics, seven of which came in track disciplines.

The 2013 road cycling season begins in Australia as a selection of the sport’s top riders gather for the 15th Santos Tour Down Under, with extensive coverage on Sky Sports from January 20-27.
The 2013 edition of Australia’s six-stage competition takes riders on a 758km journey in search of the distinctive Ochre Jersey around the picturesque city of Adelaide, concluding with a 20-lap race on the city’s council street circuit.
Sky Sports will screen extensive coverage of the opening event of the 2013 UCI World Tour with all six stages of the race to be broadcast live for the first time.

Lance Armstrong will break his long silence over allegations that he cheated his way to seven Tour de France titles in his first ‘no-holds-barred’ interview with US talk-show host Oprah Winfrey.
Armstrong will address the alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career.
The interview will be broadcast in two parts, this first of which will air in the United States at 9pm ET on Thursday, January 17, and viewers in the UK can watch a live simulcast of the full interview on the Discovery Channel or online via Oprah.com at 2.00am GMT, early on Friday morning.

The first major international track cycling event in the UK since London 2012 takes place this weekend as Glasgow plays host to round two of the 2012-2013 UCI Track Cycling World Cup series.
Some of Team GB’s Olympic cycling stars, including double gold medallists Jason Kenny, Laura Trott, and Ed Clancy will receive a heroes welcome from a sell-out crowd inside the brand new Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, which makes its debut on the international stage.
BBC Sport will have exclusive coverage on TV, radio and online of all the key action from Glasgow from November 16-18.

ESPN will broadcast the UK premiere of the exposé documentary into Lance Armstrong on Friday, November 2.
The World According To Lance investigates one of the biggest scandals in the history of sport, detailing the case against the American cyclist, who has been accused of employing illegal doping to enhance his athletic performances.
Australian journalist Quentin McDermott reviews the allegations against the Texan, featuring evidence from key players in the USADA investigation, including friends, teammates and some of cycling’s most influential players.

An exciting year of cycling is set to culminate with the 2012 UCI Road World Championships in the Netherlands, and BBC Sport and British Eurosport will have live coverage of all the key races.
The event consists of a road race, time-trial and team time-trial, and the best male and female riders in the world will gather in the Dutch city of Limburg with the aim of ending their seasons on a high.
Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins and reigning road race world champion Mark Cavendish will head up a powerful nine-man British men’s road race team, while Olympic silver medallist Lizzie Armitstead and Emma Pooley lead a strong GB line-up for the women’s event.
