FOOTBALL: FA Cup 2012/13 – Third Round Draw – Live on ITV1

The draw for the Third Round proper of the 2012/13 FA Cup with Budweiser will take place on Sunday, December 2, as the big guns from the Premier League and the Championship enter the competition.

Lower league and non-League sides that remain in this season’s competition dream of being paired with a Premier League giant, while the bigger clubs will all be looking to avoid a potential Cup upset.

Former Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba and ex-Tottenham and England defender Ledley King will make the draw at Wembley Stadium, with live coverage on ITV1 at approximately 2.40pm.

Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest when Bolton played Tottenham in a Sixth Round tie at White Hart Lane last season.

The 24-year-old received lengthy treatment on the pitch before being rushed to The London Chest Hospital, where he made a remarkable recovery.

He was eventually discharged from hospital a month later, and was well enough to attend the 2012 FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley, where he was a guest in the Royal Box.

Muamba is now an ambassador for the British Heart Foundation and there will be a special announcement involving the charity and The FA ahead of the Third Round draw on Sunday.

Former Spurs skipper King spent his entire career at White Hart Lane before announcing his retirement last July, having made over 260 appearances in all competitions and winning 21 international caps for England.

The most notable Third Round tie from last season was the Manchester derby, which United won 3-2 at the home of their local rivals, while Swindon Town, then of League Two, came from behind to knock out Premier League Wigan.

Mark Pougatch will present the draw for the Third Round, which will follow ITV1’s live coverage of MK Dons v AFC Wimbledon on Sunday afternoon.
