The first major silverware of the season is still in the sights of eight teams as the Capital One Cup quarter-finals take place, with two live games on Sky Sports and extensive terrestrial highlights on BBC Sport.
Bradford City’s home tie with Arsenal on Tuesday, December 11, will be screened live on Sky Sports, as will Leeds United’s home clash with Chelsea on Wednesday, December 19, with highlights of all four ties in two seperate highlights shows on BBC One.
League two side Bradford have surprised everybody by getting to this stage of the competition but they now face their sternest test yet, against Arsenal, who knocked out Reading in a 12-goal thriller in Round 4.
To get to this stage, the best they have achieved since 1989, the Bantams overcame Wigan Athletic on penalties in the Fourth Round, having already seen off Burton Albion, Watford and Notts County in the earlier rounds.
The other live tie looks set to be an exciting affair, as Neil Warnock’s Leeds host Rafael Benitez’s Chelsea.
Leeds have already knocked out two Premier League sides in the Capital One Cup – Everton and Southampton – so will fancy their chances against the Blues, under the lights of Elland Road.
Benitez’s men will travel with confidence, though, having knocked out Manchester United in a nine-goal thriller in the last round.
Due to Chelsea’s involvement in the Club World Cup, the tie will take place on December 19 while the other ties will be in the week beginning December 10.
The semi-final draw will be made following the conclusion of the Leeds/Chelsea clash.
With 21 goals coming in the two live fourth round fixtures, the two live quarter-final ties should not be missed.
Sky Sports is the only place to watch live Capital One Cup matches for the next three seasons.
Two live games will shown during each round of the competition, with the final exclusively live on Sky Sports next February at Wembley, and all in high-definition as well as selected games in 3D.
You can keep up to date with all the action as it happens with goal flashes and live updates from around the grounds in Gillette Soccer Special on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News, presented by Julian Warren and guests.
BBC Sport will have comprehensive highlights during each round in The League Cup Show on BBC One, as well as extended highlights of the final.
Midweek Final Score will be in operation on the BBC Red Button and via the BBC Sport website, featuring 5 live commentary on a selected match, alongside live graphics and the vidiprinter, keeping you up to date with all the goals and major incidents as they happen on the night.
BBC Radio 5 live and talkSPORT will have selected commentaries of key matches during the competition.
