TENNIS: Sky Sports retains US Open and ATP World Tour rights

Sky Sports has secured major rights renewals for two of its most long-standing contracts to cover the US Open and ATP World Tour events.

The broadcaster has renewed the rights to screen the final Grand Slam of the calendar year in New York, where Britain’s Andy Murray won his first major title in 2012, in a new three-year deal starting in August.

Sky have also secured the rights to continue broadcasting exclusive live coverage of the top events on the ATP World Tour calendar for five more years up to 2018, including all nine ATP Masters 1000 events and the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals at London’s O2 Arena.

TENNIS: ATP World Tour Finals 2012 – Live on Sky Sports & BBC TV

A thrilling year of tennis reaches its final set with the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

It’s the fourth staging of the traditional season-finale to the men’s tour at the O2 Arena, where the top-eight singles players and doubles pairings go head-to-head for the chance to claim most prestigious title in the sport outside of the grand slams.

Live coverage of the eight-day tournament begins on Sky Sports and BBC Sport on Monday, November 5.

TENNIS: BBC to screen ATP World Tour Finals until 2013

BBC Sport will continue to provide free-to-air coverage of the end-of-season Barclays ATP World Tour Finals after signing a two-year extension to their current broadcast agreement.

The new deal will see the BBC broadcast the next two editions of the event at the O2 Arena in London in November 2012 and 2013.
