Channel 5 will screen live coverage of James DeGale’s latest WBC Super Middleweight Silver title defence at Glow in Bluewater on Saturday (June 8).

DeGale claimed his 15th professional victory from 16 fights just four weeks ago with a second-round stoppage of Sebastien Demers in Canada, and he will be expecting to prevail once again against his Croatian opponent, who has lost three of his last six contests.

There’s a double of dose of international boxing on terrestrial television this weekend as BBC Two presents highlights of this week’s European Amateur Championships from Belarus on Sunday afternoon.

BOXING: David Haye signs deal with Matchroom and Sky Sports

British heavyweight David Haye has announced that he will return to action against Manuel Charr in Manchester on June 29, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

The former WBA world heavyweight champion Haye also confirmed that his camp have struck up a commercial relationship with promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, who are currently the exclusive provider of Sky’s live boxing shows.

Matchroom and Hayemaker will co-promote the shows headlined by the former world champion, beginning with the clash against the 28 year-old German challenger Charr at Manchester Arena.

BOXING: Jamie McDonnell’s world title fight live on Primetime

Jamie McDonnell’s world title fight against unbeaten Julio Ceja will be televised by pay-per-view network Primetime.

McDonnell faces the big punching Mexican for the vacant IBF bantamweight crown at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on May 11, as he aims to become the town’s first ever boxing world champion.

The fight, plus several undercard bouts, will be available to watch for £10.95 on Sky, Virgin, online and via the Primetime App for smartphones/iPad.

BOXING: Channel 5 signs deal to show Tyson Fury v Steve Cunningham

Channel 5 has signed a late deal to screen live coverage of the biggest fight of Tyson Fury’s career to date as he makes his US debut against Steve Cunningham at Madison Square Garden on April 20.

With just under a week to go until Fury travels to faces the former two-time world cruiserweight champion on his home soil, a UK television deal to screen the fight has been secured after talks between Channel 5 and promoter Hennessy Sports.

The young heavyweight, 24, will now explode onto the American scene in front of network and terrestrial television in the US and the UK respectively in an official IBF world heavyweight title eliminator.

BOXING: Ricky Burns becomes the latest fighter to join Matchroom Boxing and Sky Sports

Ricky Burns has joined Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing after the promoter confirmed the Scottish fighter’s controversial switch from Frank Warren’s stable.

The two-weight World Champion will fight for the first time under Eddie Hearn live on Sky Sports on May 11, at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

Burns’ last outing was his comprehensive win over Kevin Mitchell at the SECC in Glasgow on September, where the 29-year-old defended his WBO Lightweight title in style with a fourth round stoppage.

The Scottish fighter’s departure from Frank Warren’s stable follows just days after George Groves made the same move across to Matchroom.
