The 2013 Heineken Cup Final is an all French affair as Clermont Auvernge take on Toulon in Dublin, and with neither team having won it before, a new name will be enscribed onto the famous trophy.

In the eyes of many experts and fans, Clermont are the team to beat, but at their best the star-studded Toulon side, led by 2003 England World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson, are a match for any team in the competition.

Sky Sports will have exclusive live coverage of the showpiece final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, May 18, which will also be broadcast on Sky 3D and terrestrial highlights will be shown on S4C.

RUGBY UNION: Heineken Cup 2012/13 – Semi Finals – Live on Sky Sports

As the 2012/13 Heineken Cup campaign heads towards a thrilling climax, just four sides are left in the hunt for domestic club rugby union’s most coveted prize.

Surprise package Munster will make the daunting trip to Top 14 leaders Clermont on Saturday, April 27, while Saracens will take on big-spending Toulon at Twickenham on Sunday, April 28.

RUGBY UNION: Sky Sports announces new four-year European rugby deal

Sky Sports has announced a new four-year deal with the ERC for exclusive live coverage of the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup.

The extended contract starts in the autumn of 2014, and will extend the long-standing relationship with the ERC to the end of the 2017/2018 season, a 15th year.

ERC’s new deal with Sky comes on the same day that BT won exclusive rights to screen Aviva Premiership matches from 2013, as well as selected matches from European competitions involving English clubs from 2014, but this part of the agreement has been questioned by the ERC who claim that it breaches International Rugby Board (IRB) regulations.

RUGBY UNION: BT wins exclusive Premiership rights

BT and Premiership Rugby have announced one of the biggest broadcast deals in the history of English club rugby, signing a contract worth up to £152 million for a range of exclusive live rights over a four year period.

In a ground-breaking new broadcast deal, BT will have the exclusive live rights to show Aviva Premiership Rugby for the next four years, as well as the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Sevens series, from the 2013/14 season.

BT has also been given exclusive rights to matches played by Premiership clubs in any future European competitions from 2014/15 for three years, though this part of the deal has been questioned by the ERC, the organisers of both premier European club competitions, who claim that the English Premiership’s governing body does not have the authority to distribute the rights.
