Sport On The Box’s Christmas Watch series returns for the festive period of 2012 as we guide you through all the must-see live sporting events each day, plus highlighting the best review shows and documentaries as this sensational sporting year draws to a close.

It’s a busy day of football as the final round of fixtures before Christmas take place across the country. There will be the usual thrills and spills from the Premier League, including two televised matches on Saturday, plus live action from the npower Championship, Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A.

Elsewhere, the glorious setting of London’s Olympia has been the scene of the 40th staging of the annual International Horse Show, with a fine array of Christmas jumpers from across the glove set to excite the vast crowds for the feature FEI World Cup show jumping qualifier, live on BBC One.

LONDON 2012: Eurosport to bring 3D Olympics coverage to Sky homes

Eurosport will broadcast more than 100 hours of 3D action during this summer’s London Olympic Games via the Sky 3D channel.

The pan-European broadcaster will showcase all of its 3D coverage on the UK’s only dedicated 3D TV channel, which is already enjoyed in more than 250,000 Sky homes as well as thousands of pubs nationwide.

LONDON 2012: BBC to provide 24 live Olympic TV streams via cable and satellite

The BBC has announced that it will make 24 live high-definition Olympic TV streams available to cable and satellite providers for this summer’s Olympic Games in London.

This announcements means that for the first time ever in the UK, millions of television viewers with cable or satellite TV will be able to watch every Olympic sporting event live from every venue.

LONDON 2012: Olympic Torch Relay – BBC announces regional coverage plans

The BBC has released details of how each of its UK regional news teams will cover the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, starting on May 19.

Plans include a dedicated BBC Olympic Torch Relay Bus with an on-board radio studio that will tour the country, a daily local radio outside broadcasts from key locations and 14 live television specials celebrating the Torch Relay in each BBC region.

LONDON 2012: Channel 4 announces Paralympics presenting team

Channel 4 has unveiled its line-up of presenters and reporters for its comprehensive coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games this summer, featuring top sports broadcasters, former Paralympians and new disabled talent.

It will be the biggest broadcasting event in Channel 4’s 30-year history and the most extensive coverage ever dedicated to the Paralympic Games by a UK broadcaster.

Channel 4 will clear its schedules across the network for all eleven days of the Games, screening more than 150 hours of coverage, and in line with the channel’s vision on winning the broadcast rights to the Games, half of the presenters and reporters in the line-up will be disabled.

LONDON 2012: BBC confirms 3D Olympics coverage

The BBC has announced that it will broadcast selected events from this summer’s London Olympic Games in 3D.

All of the corporation’s free-to-air 3D output will be broadcast via the BBC’s HD channel and will include the Opening Ceremony, Closing Ceremony, the Men’s 100m final, and a highlights package at the end of each day.
