ATHLETICS: Great Manchester CityGames / Run – Live on BBC Sport

Manchester city centre plays host to a bumper weekend of top quality international athletics, featuring a line-up of Olympic and Paralympic stars, plus a selection of the world’s finest long distance runners.

More than 20,000 people are expected to gather to see some of the sport’s biggest names compete in the BT Great Manchester CityGames on Saturday, May 25, while on Sunday more than 40,000 will run the 10km Bupa Great Manchester Run.

BBC TV will live coverage of both events over the weekend which forms part of a great weekend of sport.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Super League Magic Weekend 2013 – Live on Sky Sports

BOXING: David Haye signs deal with Matchroom and Sky Sports

British heavyweight David Haye has announced that he will return to action against Manuel Charr in Manchester on June 29, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

The former WBA world heavyweight champion Haye also confirmed that his camp have struck up a commercial relationship with promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, who are currently the exclusive provider of Sky’s live boxing shows.

Matchroom and Hayemaker will co-promote the shows headlined by the former world champion, beginning with the clash against the 28 year-old German challenger Charr at Manchester Arena.

BOXING: Freddie Flintoff’s professional debut – Live on BoxNation

Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff swaps cricket whites for boxing gloves as he makes his heavyweight boxing debut exclusively live on BoxNation.

In a sporting first, England’s Ashes hero from 2005 and 2009, who made over 200 appearances for his country across all formats of the game, will take up the biggest challenge of career as he faces unbeaten American prospect Richard Dawson in a four-round contest on Friday, November 30 (ring-walk 10.30pm).

Flintoff’s professional debut forms part of an intriguing night of boxing from the north-west, which also features an all-British heavyweight showdown between David Price and Matt Skelton, and British light-welterweight prospect Bradley Saunders.

BOXING: Ricky Hatton’s comeback live on Primetime

Ricky Hatton’s return to the ring against Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko will be broadcast exclusively live by pay-per-view sports channel Primetime.

Former WBA welterweight champion Senchenko is expected to be a tough opponent for ‘The Hitman’ as he makes his comeback after a three-year absence in front of a sell-out home crowd at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, November 24 (fight start: 10pm approx).

The PPV broadcaster will screen the headline fight as well as three undercard fights from 7.00pm on channel 498 on Sky, Virgin on-Demand, streamed live via the Primetime website, and in selected pubs/bars and cinemas across the UK.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Super League Grand Final 2012 – Warrington v Leeds – Live on Sky Sports

The 2012 Stobart Super League champions will be crowned on Saturday night and Sky Sports cameras will be at Old Trafford as Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos battle it out for supremacy.

Defending champions Leeds booked their place in a fifth Grand Final in six years following play-off victories over Wakefield, Catalan and Wigan, while Warrington are 80 minutes away from the elusive double having beaten the Rhinos at Wembley in August’s Challenge Cup final.

Sky Sports will have all the action of the grand finale to the domestic rugby league season exclusively live, with terrestrial highlights on BBC Two and live radio commentary on BBC 5 live.

DISABILITY SPORT: BT Paralympic World Cup 2012 – Live on Channel 4

Channel 4 will screen more than 20 hours of coverage from BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester on 22-26 May.

This will be the London 2012 Paralympics broadcaster’s second successive year covering the event, which will act as vital preparation ahead of the Paralympic foray in just over 100 days.

Channel 4 will also utilise the majority of their Paralympic Games on-screen team at the Manchester Regional Arena, including Clare Balding and Ade Adepitan, giving viewers a taste of what is to come from their presenting line-up later this summer.
