Despite his recent travails, this is the one millions of people around the globe will be waiting for – Usain Bolt in the men’s 100m final.

Never mind the dip in form which saw training partner Yohan Blake beat him in the run-up to the Games, or the perilous possibility of his false-starting just as he did at last year’s World Championships in Daegu – there can be no question that Bolt running the 100m is the most eagerly awaited of Olympic events.

Middle Saturday of every Olympic Games is always billed as ‘Super Saturday’, and London 2012 is no exception as there is an unmissable line-up of world class sport happening all across London.

It will be pretty hard for armchair fans to know where to turn next, with so many great sporting events occuring at the same time on a day which could define the London 2012 Games for the host nation.

ATHLETICS: Channel 4 announces World Championships line-up

Channel 4 has confirmed its on-screen line-up for the forthcoming IAAF World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

Four-time Olympic gold-medallist athlete Michael Johnson will be part of a winning line-up of sporting greats hosting the channel’s live and exclusive coverage of the IAAF World Athletics Championships.

The world-famous, nine-time world champion, who is also a regular BBC pundit, will join main presenter Ortis Deley on the flagship programme to give his views on the action from the track.
