Eight hours of continuous live coverage begins with the 30th installment of Prizefighter – the third edition of the cruiserweights – at the event’s spiritual home of York Hall in Bethnal Green.

Then at 12.30am, attention switches Stateside as Britain’s Lee Purdy aims to cause a major upset when he fights Devon Alexander for the IBF world welterweight title Atlantic City.

BOXING: Prizefighter Int’l Heavyweights III & Price v Thompson – Live this Saturday

The first major fight night of 2013 takes place this Saturday (February 23) as eight international heavyweights vie for the Betfair Prizefighter trophy, while David Price continues his ascent through the heavyweight ranks.

Sky Sports has live coverage of the 29th edition of the popular Prizefighter format from York Hall in Bethna Green, which features two former winners of the competition in Audley Harrison and Martin Rogan.

BOXING: Betfair Prizefighter – Welterweights III – Live on Sky Sports

The first Betfair Prizefighter of 2013 will be staged at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall this Saturday night as the welterweights battle for the £32,000 top prize live on Sky Sports.

Matchroom Sport’s 28th edition of its innovative eight-man knock-out tournament forms part of a great line-up of boxing in the Black Country, which includes Kal Yafai’s first fight of 2013 as he hunts for the big names and titles in the bantamweight division.

The third Welterweights tournament promises to be intrguing with six of the largely inexperienced fighters bringing unbeaten records in the professional ranks, including Glenn Foot, Dale Evans, Chad Gaynor, Steven Pearce, Calum Cooper and Sam Eggington.
