An all-star entry list featuring world champions and London 2012 Olympians heads up the field for the 2013 Badminton Horse Trials, one of equestrian sport’s showpiece events.

Anticipation is higher than ever this year after the famous event was cancelled last year because heavy and persistent rain in the weeks prior to the event left the famous Gloucestershire venue flooded.

BBC Sport will have all the key action from the final two days of the 2013 event, fronted by Clare Balding, including live coverage of the closing cross country and jumping disciplines.

TENNIS: Sky Sports to screen Great Britain’s Fed Cup tie against Argentina

Sky Sports has signed a deal with the ITF to show live coverage of Great Britain’s Fed Cup World Group II play-off clash against Argentina this weekend.

Laura Robson will spearhead Britain’s bid for Fed Cup promotion on the clay courts of Parque Roca in Buenos Aires on April 20-21.

The tie will decide who progresses to the eight-nation 2014 World Group II, the second tier of the international competition, after Great Britain finished as joint winners of the Europe/Africa Zone Group I in February.

FOOTBALL: S4C to show Grimsby v Wrexham live in FA Trophy Final

S4C has secured a last-minute deal to broadcast the 2013 FA Trophy Final between Grimsby Town and Wrexham live from Wembley Stadium.

Due to travel problems caused by the bad weather, the Welsh-language broadcaster asked the FA, Wrexham and Grimsby to reconsider a bid to broadcast the game live.

All three parties agreed to the bid and the game will be shown on S4C on Sunday, March 24, with coverage beginning at 2.45pm ahead of a 3.00pm kick-off.

SNOOKER: Welsh Open 2013 – Live on BBC Wales & Eurosport

The best snooker players on the planet will be in Newport for the 2013 BetVictor Welsh Open with live coverage on BBC Wales and British Eurosport.

The tournament runs from February 11-17 at the Newport Centre and will feature leading players such as world number one Mark Selby, John Higgins, Judd Trump, defending champion Ding Junhui and Welsh wizards Mark Williams and Matthew Stevens.

The BBC Wales-televised event is one of snooker’s longest standing world ranking events, ever-present on the calendar since 1992.

FOOTBALL: FIFA Club World Cup matches to be shown on BBC TV

The BBC has secured a last-minute deal to broadcast the semi-finals and the final of the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

Featuring 2012 UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea, the annual tournament brings together the club champions from all six FIFA confederations.

Both semi-finals will be shown live on the Red Button and the BBC HD channel, with highlights of Chelsea’s semi-final match on BBC Two shortly after its conclusion.

The final will be shown exclusively live on BBC Two and BBC HD on Sunday, December 16.

BROADCASTING: BBC scales back Red Button service

The BBC will cut the number of video streams it offers through its interactive Red Button TV service later this month, as it shifts the focus of the service to emerging online platforms.

From October 15, the BBC will reduce the number of red button video streams from five to just one to more than 20 million homes with Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media, bringing the service in line with its existing Freeview offering.

TENNIS: US Open 2012 – Live on Sky Sports

A record prize purse of $25.5m will be up for grabs as Novak Djokovic and Sam Stosur begin the defence of their singles crowns.

LONDON 2012: Olympic Games deliver record viewing figures for BBC

The London 2012 Olympic Games delivered the biggest national television audiences since current measuring systems began, with at least 90% of the UK population tuning in to watch the BBC’s comprehensive coverage at some stage during the event.

Almost 52m watched at least 15-minutes of BBC TV’s Olympics output, and 24.2m also tuned in to see at least 15-minutes of coverage on the BBC’s 24 Olympics channels via the Red Button, according to figures released by the corporation, making the 2012 Games the largest TV audience reach for a major event for at least 10 years.

In addition to impressive TV viewing figures, the BBC also delivered its most successful online event ever, attracting a record-breaking 55m global browsers to the BBC Sport website, marking London 2012 as the first truly digital Olympic Games.

LONDON 2012: Olympics Watch – Thurs 9th August

Thursday promises great action across a broad range of events, starting in Hyde Park’s Serpentine lake at midday when Great Britain’s Keri-Anne Payne takes on the marathon swim.

Each entrant will swim six laps of the course as they aim to win the Olympic title, with Payne among the favourites to claim gold, having finished second four years ago in Beijing, where the event made its debut in the Games.
