TENNIS: US Open 2012 – Live on Sky Sports

Flushing Meadows plays host once again to the final tennis grand slam of the year as the world’s greatest players gather in New York for the 2012 US Open.

A record prize purse of $25.5m will be up for grabs as Novak Djokovic and Sam Stosur begin the defence of their singles crowns.

Sky Sports is showing matches from every round of both the men’s and women’s competitions exclusively live throughout the tournament, with selected live matches also available on British Eurosport.

LONDON 2012: Olympic Games deliver record viewing figures for BBC

The London 2012 Olympic Games delivered the biggest national television audiences since current measuring systems began, with at least 90% of the UK population tuning in to watch the BBC’s comprehensive coverage at some stage during the event.

Almost 52m watched at least 15-minutes of BBC TV’s Olympics output, and 24.2m also tuned in to see at least 15-minutes of coverage on the BBC’s 24 Olympics channels via the Red Button, according to figures released by the corporation, making the 2012 Games the largest TV audience reach for a major event for at least 10 years.

In addition to impressive TV viewing figures, the BBC also delivered its most successful online event ever, attracting a record-breaking 55m global browsers to the BBC Sport website, marking London 2012 as the first truly digital Olympic Games.


LONDON 2012: Olympics Watch – Sat 11th August

A week on from Great Britain’s golden hour on ‘Super Saturday’, Mo Farah returns to the scene of his greatest triumph in a bid to become a double Olympic champion.

He has already played his part in one of the greatest nights in British sporting history and he goes for a second Olympic gold medal in the 5,000m final at 7.30pm.

Great Britain also have strong medal hopes in the diving pool and in the boxing ring.

LONDON 2012: Olympics Watch – Thurs 9th August

Thursday promises great action across a broad range of events, starting in Hyde Park’s Serpentine lake at midday when Great Britain’s Keri-Anne Payne takes on the marathon swim.

Each entrant will swim six laps of the course as they aim to win the Olympic title, with Payne among the favourites to claim gold, having finished second four years ago in Beijing, where the event made its debut in the Games.

After an excellent start to London’s Olympic Games on day one, the action continues apace with five more sports joining  in the Olympic party on day two.

Will Great Britain’s swimming sensation Rebecca Adlington be lining up a gold medal in the pool?

If she makes it through the morning heats, the two-time Olympic champion will defend her 400m Freestyle title in the evening, live on BBC One at 8.15pm.
