FOOTBALL: FA Women’s Cup Final 2013 – Arsenal v Bristol Academy – Live on BBC Two

Women’s football’s showpiece match of the season takes place at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium as Arsenal Ladies take on Bristol Academy in the 2013 FA Women’s Cup Final.

This year marks 20 years since the Football Association took over the running of the women’s game and the 2013 final will be staged at the home of Doncaster Rovers Belles, one of women’s football’s most famous clubs, who won the first Women’s Cup under the FA’s auspices in 1994.

The match also returns to terrestrial television for the first time since 2009 as BBC Two and BBC Two HD screens live coverage on Sunday, May 26, signalling the start of an amazing summer of women’s football with the UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 finals following in July.

FOOTBALL: BBC Sport confirms UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 coverage

BBC Sport has announced that live TV coverage of the 2013 Women’s European Football Championship will have a new home on BBC Three.

With England representing the home nations, football fans will be able to tune in to BBC Three for a host of live matches as well as extensive highlights throughout the tournament that takes place in Sweden between July 10-28.

The BBC has also confirmed that it will screen this summer’s FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil which runs from June 15-30, forming part of a busy summer of international football.

LONDON 2012: Team GB Olympic football warm-up matches live on BBC One

The BBC will kick off its coverage of the London 2012 Olympic football by showing Team GB men’s and women’s warm-up matches live from the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, on Friday 20 July.

London 2012 marks the first time that Great Britain will compete in the men’s football competition since the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, and the first time ever for the women’s team.

The double-header will be the only chance for fans to see the men’s and women’s teams play before the Olympic football tournament begins, and both warm-up games will be shown live on BBC One.
