BBC Sport and Premier Sports will share the rights to broadcast live coverage of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup to be held this Autumn across England and Wales.
The BBC will screen extensive free-to-air television coverage of the 2013 tournament, including live games and regular highlights. The corporation has also secured the rights to the 2017 World Cup (host TBC), plus TV coverage of the 2014 and 2016 Four Nations tournaments.
Subscription channel Premier Sports will screen all 28 games live from the 2013 tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, October 26 and represents the biggest international sporting event taking place in the UK during 2013.

The Super League Show, terrestrial television’s only weekly rugby league programme, returns to BBC TV for its fourteenth season on Monday, February 4.
On air throughout the regular season, the programme will feature highlights and interviews from the weekend’s Super League fixtures every Monday night on BBC One in the North of England at 11.35pm.
It will also feature the game’s top players, plus comment on the week’s topical issues, both on and off the pitch, from our regular studio pundits.
The programme will also continue to be repeated across the UK on BBC Two but in a new daytime slot of 1.30pm on Tuesday afternoons, moving from its former late-night graveyard slot.

Live coverage of Super League XVIII on Sky Sports will begin with defending champions Leeds Rhinos at home to Hull FC on Friday, February 1.
Up to two live games will be broadcast each weekend during the regular season, and every club will be featured live by the end of Round six when Super League XVIII commences in February 2013.

The 2012 Stobart Super League champions will be crowned on Saturday night and Sky Sports cameras will be at Old Trafford as Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos battle it out for supremacy.
Defending champions Leeds booked their place in a fifth Grand Final in six years following play-off victories over Wakefield, Catalan and Wigan, while Warrington are 80 minutes away from the elusive double having beaten the Rhinos at Wembley in August’s Challenge Cup final.
Sky Sports will have all the action of the grand finale to the domestic rugby league season exclusively live, with terrestrial highlights on BBC Two and live radio commentary on BBC 5 live.

Premier Sports will broadcast exclusive coverage of the finale to the 2012 Co-operative Championship season.
Live coverage of both the RFL Championship and Championship One grand finals will be shown on Premier Sports Extra this Sunday, forming part of the channel’s Super Sunday Finals Day line-up.
A bumper six-hour celebration of Rugby League gets underway at 1pm, with the full Premier Sports on-screen team of Dave Woods, Ian Ramsdale, Natalie Quirk and Brian Noble guiding viewers through the day’s events.

The Rugby Football League (RFL) have agreed a broadcast deal with the BBC for live coverage of all four matches of the 2012 Autumn International Series.
Featuring England, France and Wales, the series provides an opportunity for all three competing nations to hone their preparations for Rugby League World Cup 2013 and will feature the best Rugby League players from the domestic competitions of Europe and Australia.
With the Four Nations tournament being rested until after the 2013 World Cup, the BBC have stepped in to secure the TV rights to this one-off triangular series after Sky reportedly declined to cover it.

Reigning Super League champions Leeds Rhinos meet Warrington Wolves to battle for rugby league’s most prestigious trophy in the 2012 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final, exclusively live on BBC One.

The BBC will remain as the principal broadcaster of the Carnegie Challenge Cup, after signing new four-year deal to cover rugby league’s oldest and most prestigious knockout competition.
The deal with the RFL ensures that the Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium will continue to be broadcast exclusively live on BBC One until 2016.

Emerging subscription channel Premier Sports has signed a deal with the Rugby Football League (RFL) to screen live Co-operative Championship matches from 2012.
Up to 32 matches from the Championship, Championship One and the Northern Rail Cup will be televised on the channel throughout the season, with coverage beginning in early March.

- New £90m five-year deal secures Super League on Sky until 2016
- Up to 70 live matches per season, including the Grand Final
- All Super League coverage to be broadcast in High Definition, with selected games in 3D
- Sky to drop Co-Operative Championship coverage
Sky Sports has announced a new deal to screen live Super League matches until the end of 2016.
The new five-year agreement with the Rugby Football League sees the Super League gain a record-breaking deal for exclusive rights to matches played during the 2012 and 2016 seasons, taking the partnership with BSkyB up to its 21st year.
